Bikini-Bound? Follow Our 3-Day Reset Plan

When swimsuit season hits, some of us (read: most of us) shudder at the thought of tying on the bikini strings and baring it all at the beach. While many people turn to fasting and strict juice diets to remedy the situation, the thought of a week-long (or month-long) cleanse is not what we have in mind. Instead, we asked registered dietician and wellness coach McKel Hill for some help in that department and she delivered something much more reasonable (and delicious) that even nursing mamas can safely follow.

Welcome to her 3-Day Bikini Reset, created just for Mother readers. It’s far from radical, strict, or challenging, and it’s all about celebrating beautiful and delicious seasonal fruits, vegetables, and whole foods this summer. This plan is rooted in nourishing your body with foods that are easy to digest and help beat the bloat naturally. It’s also a great way to kick-start healthy habits for life and to feel your best around the pool, the beach, and BBQ’s.

Engaging in crash diets, juice cleanses, and other restrictive programs can be taxing on your body. But this reset is all about focusing on whole foods and staying away from processed foods as much as possible, while nourishing your body, keeping you energized, and ready to tackle the day while feeling amazing.

The foods in this 3-day menu are selected because they’re great for flushing your body of excess water and easing digestion. Day 1 focuses on fiber to get your digestive system moving healthfully, with whole grains and plant-based healthy fats. Day 2 focuses on protein-rich vegetables. And Day 3 incorporates easy-to-digest foods, such as smoothies and vegetables, cooked with protein-rich foods.
