Peek Inside Our Fall Beauty Bag

Written by James Kicinski-McCoy

Now that fall is here, it’s probably a good idea to switch up your beauty routine with something more appropriate for the season. Along with the changing leaves and the need for layers and knits, autumn brings colder temperatures that result in drier, duller-looking skin. So, to help you start this season off fresh-faced, take a peek inside of our beauty bag to see the products and trends that we’re coveting most this fall.

1. CC cream: Autumn skin usually requires a little extra coverage to hide flaws. We love CC creams because they offer solid coverage without being too thick. Bobbi Brown CC Cream SPF 35, $44, Bobbi Brown.

2. Hand balm: The changing of the season can be rough on your skin and deplete hydration. Keep your hands soft, smooth, and youthful with this intense, beautiful cream. Aesop Rejuvenate Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm, $27, Net-a-Porter.

3. Berry lip color: The perfect hue for your fall pout is a deep, rich plum. It’s important that you pick one that’s both creamy and long-lasting. Nars “Audacious” Lipstick in Bette, $32, Sephora.

4. Hair oil treatment: Your locks can lose their bounce and their shine in colder months, resorting in straw-like tresses. To refrain from having unruly hair this season, use a deep-conditioning treatment. MoroccanOil Treatment, $14.80, Nordstrom.

5. Copper nails: Have fun with changing up your nail color this season. We love this coppery, cosmic color that dries with a wet-look finish. Enamored Hi-Shine Lacquer in Petra, $18, Marc Jacobs.

6. Unisex perfume: This intense woody, Oriental perfume blend finishes with a whimsical floral note, making it the perfect scent for autumn. Marrakech Intense Eau de Toilette, $79, Aesop.

7. Brow pencil: Last season was all about the bold brow. This fall is more about a full, subtle brow. Get the look by using a good quality pencil that is close to your natural hair color. Anastasia Perfect Brow Pencil, $29.51, Cult Beauty LTD.

8. A good serum: The cold and crispness of the fall air can dry out our faces. Restore your skin’s youthfulness and reduce the appearance of fine lines with this silky smooth, revitalizing tonic. La Mer The Concentrate, $325, Bloomingdales.

9. Nude lips: If you’re not one for bold lip color, your fall shade should be a barely there creamy nude. The natural look is widely popular this season and a nude lip looks great with virtually any eye color. Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Lip Color in Peche, $27, Laura Mercier.

10. Don’t forget the cheeks: We love this 2-in-1 cheek color-highlighter duo. Colors glide seamlessly across the face, leaving a natural glow and a perfectly sculpted finish. Tom Ford Contouring Cheek Color Duo in Stroked, $90.85, Selfridges.

11.  Clarisonic: This season our skin needs a little extra exfoliating and detoxing. Keep dry skin away with this gentle, portable skincare tool. It cleans, softens, and smoothes the skin in just a matter of seconds. Clarisonic Mia 2 Facial Sonic Cleansing Brush, $149, Space NK.

12. Rich moisturizer: This miraculous skin cream is used to protect against anti-aging and harsh climate changes. Applying this magic potion daily will result in radiant, glowing skin. A little goes a long way. Egyptian Magic All-Purpose Skin Cream Facial Treatment, $20.49, Amazon.

13. Lip conditioner: There is nothing worse than having dry, cracked lips in the colder months. Keep healthy lips at bay with this ultra-conditioning, hydrating lip repair. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy, $12, Sephora

14. Makeup bag: Of course, you need a good sized bag to stash all of your fall essentials in! We love this one for its durability, and its candy apple red color. Rebecca Minkoff Makeup Stash Kerry Pouch, $75, Shopbop.
