In our opinion, Jane Birkin is the epitome of a cool mama. Famously known as a Brit who went on to define French style, her mix of sex kitten and classic tomboy are still enduring fashion references today. An It girl of the ’60s and ’70s, the actress and singer would wear a mini-dress and knee-high boots one day, and a plain white tee and high-waisted jeans the next, all while balancing one of her three daughters (Kate, Charlotte, and Lou) on her hip. In addition to her timeless and carefree approach to clothing, the style icon rocked minimal makeup and blunt bangs like no other. Want to see why Birkin is one of our favorite Mother Style Icons? Dear Jane,
Remember so well you Serge and kate on the set of May Morning In Oxford- 1970. I was 19.
You have inspired my life and my childrens’ lives. I wouldn’t have gone to Switzerland to learn French if it hadn’t been for you!
You are so incredibly special and as beautiful now as you were then…
