I knew this year was going to be a test and a slow painful one, but I had no idea it was going to be so unsettling. It was daily bombardment of the gender/racial divides, natural disasters, mass shootings, and all the absurdities of the one who shall not be named. Had I not been building, over the last few years, an incredibly strong network of mothers, sisters, and daughters, I don't think I would have been able to find that courage we all communally are looking for. I learned that when women stand together and support each other, our dreams become realities and our fears become whispers. I feel like I'm truly just starting to step into my power and I'm looking forward to how this courage will help mold my life and community involvement in 2018."
