Every time winter comes around, our skin suffers. It gets dry and dull and it seems like we’re going through a bottle of moisturizer a week! When this happens, you have to get to the source of the problem. Instead of covering up a dry face, eliminate it all together with a soothing facial. Now, we don’t all have the time or the budget to get weekly facials, but we can all make our own. Here are some natural and inexpensive beauty recipes to create your very own luxury facial at home.

First things first, wash your face. You need a clean canvas to begin. Next, steam. You want to open up those pores to remove dirt and blackheads. To do so, simply boil a pot of water, transfer it to a bowl, and add a few drops of your favorite essential oils. Lay a towel over your head while breathing in the invigorating steam and relaxing the skin for 5 minutes. Interested in using live herbs? We love this tutorial from Clementine Daily. Now, onto the good stuff—masks and scrubs. You’ll want to choose one according to your skin type or preferences below.

For Oily Skin:
Mix 1 egg white, 2 tbsp organic orange juice, and 1 tbsp of sea salt. Massage mixture onto face gently for 3-4 minutes before rinsing with cool water.

For Dry/Dull Skin:
Combine 4 tbsp of raw brown sugar and 1 tbsp of organic unrefined coconut oil. Gently rub over clean skin. Rinse with cool water.

For Sensitive Skin:
Take 1 peeled cucumber and 1/2 cup of rolled oats and blend together. Combine with 1 tbsp of plain greek yogurt and 1 tsp of raw honey. Massage into skin and let sit for 10-15 minutes.

For Brightening Skin:
Combine lukewarm water with 2 tbsp baking soda, until it forms a paste. Massage onto face gently and let sit 3-5 minutes before washing with warm water. A slight tingling sensation is to be expected.

For Anti-Aging:
Mix 1/4 of an avocado, 1 egg yolk, and 2 tbsp of raw honey together. Gently massage onto face and neck. Allow to sit for 20 minutes before rinsing with warm water.

For Acne Prone Skin or Blackheads:
Take 1 tbsp of organic cinnamon powder, 1 tbsp of lemon juice, and 1 tsp of honey and blend together. Apply the mixture to your face by massaging gently for 1-2 minutes. This scrub can cause a slight tingling sensation and redness initially, which will go away momentarily.

Don’t forget the most important part of a facial is following up with a great moisturizer! Make sure that yours is a gentle formula, so you don’t attack your skin with too much at once. We love First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer and Egyptian Magic All-Purpose Skin Cream Facial Treatment.
