A (chic) fashion collection inspired by motherhood? Sign us up! This one comes courtesy of designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana of Dolce & Gabbana, who dedicated their entire Fall 2015 collection, which showed over the weekend in Milan, to mothers around the world.

In addition to sweaters, skirts, capes, coats, and a bunch of dresses embroidered with the words “I Love You Mamma” in a variety of languages, sparkly handbags embroidered with the word “Mamma,” and frocks embellished with kid-like doodles, the show included a glowing, pregnant model, and a handful of models who walked the runway with their babies balanced on their hips or kids strolling hand-in-hand.

Model Ashleigh Good, who walked the show with her daughter Emily gave some behind-the-scene intel: “I went for a fitting with [Stefano and Domenico] a few days ago and they asked me in person if I would feel comfortable to have Emily in the show, which was really special. The collection is based on mothers and children, which is such an important part of life. I almost cried when they told me,” she continued. “And my skirt says ‘I love my beautiful mama’ in Italian!”

Backstage, D&G’s mood board (seen below) included pictures of moms throughout history, including iconic moms Jackie O. and Angelina Jolie with their kids, and the Virgin Mary (whose image showed up several times in the collection). The majority of the wares were also embellished with roses, and the casting pictures of the models included images of them with their moms, many who accompany their daughters on their Fashion Week journeys.

Of course, this wouldn’t be the first time that the Italian design duo has shown its love for all things maternal. Dolce & Gabbana ads are largely centered around the idea of the large Italian family and several generations of mothers, all wearing age-appropriate Dolce & Gabbana wares, clustered into one shot. You can check out the entire Fall 2015 show here. Color us bias, but this might be one of our favorite collections of the season…
