“I don’t have mom guilt, and I’ll tell you why. Being able to have the job that I love and the baby that I dreamed of [is great]. I’m a better mom because I’m able to go away and do what I love. Even if I failed miserably, I’m following my dreams… I would be less of a mother if I didn’t set out every day to try to make my dreams come true and other people’s dreams come true. So, I don’t have guilt. We all grew up like, ‘Go, Mom, go. Go, Mom, go!’ Not like, ‘Why are you missing things?’ but, ‘Way to go, I’m glad you’re living your dream.’ We’re all kind of rooting for each other.”

-Gabrielle Union, actress and mom to 9-month-old daughter Kaavia, to Us Weekly, August, 2019.

Gabrielle has nothing to feel guilty about because she is out busting her behind to make sure her baby is taken care of. Children need to see their parent’s work to earn a living which is good work ethics. I returned to work when my youngest child was 2 months old because I was a single 30 year old, and my baby needed formula, clothes, diapers, wipes, etc. So it was my duty as his mother to go out and earn a living to provide for him and myself. My hat goes off to Gabrielle and to all the mother’s who get up and go out and earn money to care for their families. It is a hard decision to make when you have a baby but there should never be any guily feelings when it comes to providing for your family. 💕
