While your Mother’s Day brunch might look different this year, there are still plenty of ways to create meaningful moments and connect with your mom from afar. One idea: Planning a remote Mother’s Day brunch (or simple coffee date!) with your mama and making it extra special by including some of the tips and tricks below.

Give The Gift Of Coffee: Think about gifting your mama a pretty mug ahead of time or—even better—a coffee maker. We love Keurig’s K-Mini® and K-Slim™ single-serve coffee makers, which are beautiful (the K-Mini® brewer comes in 4 hues—from matte black to dusty rose), affordable, and compact, making them a fit for most any household and a gift that’ll truly keep on giving. Both brewers are less than 5″ wide, making them a seamless addition to one’s countertop, and are compatible with your favorite K-Cup® pods for numerous flavor options. At $79.99, the K-Mini® brewer is Keurig’s most affordable brewer yet and results in a delicious, steaming cup within minutes, plus it’s totally portable, so you can make your coffee anytime, anywhere. Meanwhile, the K-Slim™ brewer has the capacity to brew up to four 8 oz. cups before you need to refill with water. (Bonus: Want Keurig to do your Mother’s Day gifting for you? At the bottom of this post, find out how one lucky reader will win a K-Mini® or K-Slim™ for herself and one for her mother!)*

Prep A Shareable Menu: It is brunch, after all. Plan a fun Mother’s Day menu, making it as simple or elaborate as you like. Think about adding in some favorites from your childhood, a family recipe, or something that reminds you of the person on the other side of the FaceTime line.

Prep Some Questions For Mom: Of course you’ll want to catch up on all of the newest and latest that’s going on with your family. But Mother’s Day is also a great occasion to learn something you might not know about your mother (and that she might not know about you). If you need help coming up with Q’s, you can scoop up a copy of the keepsake-worthy My Mother’s Book and My Grandmother’s Book, or some conversation cards.

Make It A Family Affair: Have siblings, cousins, aunties, and uncles that you’d like to get involved? Ask your loved ones—wherever they might be—to grab their own cup of joe and brunch bites to toast all of the matriarchs of your family over a video conference.

Get The Kids Involved: A 1-on-1 coffee date might be just what you need this year. But if that’s not an option or your kiddos desperately want to get involved, pour them each a cup of hot cocoa or tea while they enjoy Mother’s Day brunch with both mom and grandma. If you want to go the extra mile, have your kids send a gift ahead of time for grandma to open on the phone, or have them sing a song, read a poem, do a dance, share an appreciation list, or show off some Mother’s Day-centric artwork from afar.

*Enter Our GIVEAWAY!: Want Keurig to help bring this super-special Mother’s Day coffee date to life? 1. I think this is a great giveaway! I’ll love to win this for my daughter for Mother’s Day. She works so hard as a wife, mother to 3 children, and her job in marketing/advertising.
