No more excuses that you don’t know what’s up in the world of culture since you had a kid. Mother’s got you covered each month with a handful of nuggets that are worth your precious time, whether you’ve got just a few minutes to watch a quick video or a whole day (whaaat?!) to read and relax. Check out our pop culture cheat sheet for July, below!

1. She’s now just 20 years old, but Lorde is legit. Her new album, Melodrama, is worth looping on your ’buds. Pitchfork gave it an 8.8/10 and said it’s “a masterful study of being a young woman, a sleek and humid pop record full of grief and hedonism, crafted with the utmost care and wisdom.” Yes, please.

2. Writer Roxanne Gay isn’t just overweight, she is morbidly obese; eating was how she coped after being gang raped at age 12. Her new memoir, Hunger, takes us on her journey toward self-acceptance and says what no one else will about being fat in America. Gay herself narrates the audiobook, an arresting way to experience her story.

3. Netflix’s GLOW, a series based on the 1980’s Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling promotion, starring Marc Maron and Alison Brie, has critics frothing at the mouth. The Washington Post says it will make you smarter, AV Club claims its imperfections are part of its perfection, and Entertainment Weekly gives it a big ol’ A. What do you think?

4. Winter is here. After more than a year of waiting, the Game of Thrones season 7 premiere is around the corner (July 16), so it’s time to brush up on what’s happened so far in everyone’s favorite TV series and what to expect during its (short) penultimate season. Time has 10 ways to get ready and Rolling Stone published a tell-all with actress Emilia Clarke. You could also just make like 19M+ viewers and watch trailer #2, below.

5. What tha… Who is Poppy and why is she here? WIRED escorts you into her weird, mesmerizing world.
