Knowing that not all families are started the super traditional way (i.e. girl gets pregnant with ease, pops out baby), we bring you our column Paths To Motherhood, highlighting women who have taken a less-than-typical route to becoming a mother. Today we bring you the touching story of Brooklyn-based brand consultant and owner of Wonderhouse ConsultingNikky Cronk, who, after multiple miscarriages, successfully brought her first daughter Sefiagger home through international adoption, and 18-months later, became pregnant and gave birth to her second baby girl, Juniper. Grab your morning cup and read this beautiful tale of motherhood!

This a wonderful feature. Does Nikky recommend any books for others considering international adoption and specifically on having a “mixed” family of adopted and non-adopted children?

I loved this… and love this new column idea. Thank you Nikky for sharing your inspiring story. Having been through failed IVFs myself I could relate. Sefiagger and Juniper are both so beautiful! I love how their names go so well together too but the stories of where their names originated are so different. xo

James, Just discovered this series this morning (I have all the stories open in tabs). Adoption is a path my husband and I are strongly considering. We haven’t tried to have a baby, it’s just something we want to do. I’m really looking forward to reading the perspectives and journeys from different women.

Nikky, Thank you for sharing your story and advice. Loved your friends words of wisdom about what it means to be a mom.
