Once baby is old enough to crawl and pull herself up, it’s a good time to start thinking about baby proofing parts of your home. (We’ll be writing about that subject very soon.) It’s also a good idea to re-think your coffee table decor because, really, anything in baby’s reach is fair game. Gone are the days of fresh flowers, ceramic sculptures, your beloved Diptyque candles, and oversized fashion books—it’s time to put those bad boys up high and trade them in for something indestructible and kid-friendly. Many parents opt to remove their coffee tables completely and keep the living room space wide open for obstruction-free play, which we think is fine, but for those of you who don’t want to turn your living room into a play room, we’ve got some baby and toddler-friendly tabletop decor that you’ll want to encourage the kids to put their chubby hands on. You may even want to keep some of these things out after baby has grown, since they are truly great decor pieces. Check out our slideshow and get to swappin’.
