That’s why we asked some of the subjects behind our Mother Stories to spill the beans on what they want most this year. : "We'll be on the road this holiday, so I'm asking for small, packable gifts like this Sunday Market Bag and Tajine Lip Stain.”

: "An afternoon of pampering. I don’t even remember the last time I got my haircut. I think the perfect gift this year would be an afternoon on my own to get my hair cut, a pedicure, and blow out at The Dry Bar. I’ve always wanted to try it out. Also, these Kate Spade Saturday Leather Oxfords."

: "I spend the holidays with my family in Maine. For Christmas this year, I would love to sneak away from the kids and relish a quiet dinner with just my husband at this restaurant called The Lost Kitchen in Freedom, ME. I’m dying to try it!”

: "My one 'wish list' item for Christmas, as cliche as it may seem, is the Satomi Kawakita 18k Gold Ring with a Brown Diamond. I have coveted this ring for so long. I usually buy most of my jewelry, but this one feels like it should be a gift—hint hint!”

: "I love travel gifts. I'd rather put everything we would otherwise put towards a material gift into an awesome experience that will inspire us. So, this year's gift is a trip to Marrakesh, Morocco. I'm sure I will do a ton of shopping there, so we'll be covered in the 'things' department. As a little something extra, I told my husband he's welcome to get me a new crystal skull to add to my existing collection. I just love those so much!”

: "Stopping time. My wish for us this Christmas would be another round of photos of our little trio. The captures from my Mother story by the huge talent Jaclyn Campanero mean so much. Since then, we have moved homes, yet again, and settled into our new life in Portland. Much more, we've seen crazy amounts of growth and change. I would love to pause on this joyful and chaotic time for my kids and I. I'm coveting another session with Jaclyn or another local photographer, Kati Dimoff, whose Instagram snaps I adore.”
