Being a parent means saying “no” a lot. In fact, a recent study of 200 parents found that 94% of them say “no” daily—with more than half (53%) saying it 5+ times a day. What’s more, the poll found that 60% of parents find themselves saying “no” even more once school’s out for summer.
But what if we consciously tried saying “yes” a little bit more? (Even if just for a day?) Enter our joyful “Summer of YES” event with our friends at GoodPop, makers of better-for-you frozen treats that parents can most definitely say YES to.
We kicked off our “Summer of YES” with a trip to Austin (GoodPop‘s hometown) to gather with an inspiring group of moms, dads, and kids for a full roster of activities at the colorful Create! art studio + play space.
Upon entry, each child received a passport filled with a variety of fun happenings that parents could feel good about stamping “YES” next to. This includes enjoying GoodPop popsicles for breakfast and coffee (for kids!) by Kiid Coffee, using your body as a canvas (thanks to OOLY, Welly, and Super Smalls), painting on the walls (via our “YES” mural), making a silly face in our “pop personality” portrait booth, noshing on waffles by Evergreen and crackers and s’mores by Sunnie, playing freely, and so much more!
