It’s Earth Day every day at Kidizen—the online resell shop known for cute second-hand children’s clothing. And to mark Earth Month in 2021, the company is increasing its commitment to Mother Nature by launching the REWEAR Challenge.
In conjunction with a group of stellar kids’ brands who are committed to creating quality products that can last through multiple kids—Tea Collection, Plae, Peek, See Kai Run, and Gus + Steel included—Kidizen will be accepting donations of gently-used clothes and shoes from these participating brands all April long.
Families who donate will score a special discount from the brands they donate, meanwhile, profits from these donations sold on Kidizen will go to the Children’s Environmental Literacy Foundation, which prepares future citizens and leaders through sustainability education with the ultimate goal of establishing sustainability as an integral part of every child’s K-12 learning experience.
Ready to clear space in your closet, while helping support the planet? (And getting some sweet perks along the way?) We suggest letting your kids in on the process. Let them know the facts! Most Americans only wear 40% of the clothes they buy new. And most of these unloved clothes end up in landfills. Have them imagine the impact if everyone bought or sold just one used item this year instead.
Then, head over to Kidizen to peep a wide array of pre-loved clothes, shoes, and accessories (for kids and mama), plus toys, and books. (You can check out some of our favorites in the slideshow below). Plus, find out how you can enter this Earth-friendly resell community and join the #rewearchallenge movement! As with all good things—don’t forget to pass the intel onto a mama friend!
