With her second child on the way, Margherita Missoni just debuted another baby she’s had cooking in the oven: Margherita Kids, a brand-new childrenswear collection for baby boys, baby girls, and little girls up to size 10.
Not surprising for an heiress of the Missoni empire, the collection features lots of unexpected colors and patterns, including a Balinese-Batik-inspired fish print and a variety of floral prints (the line’s logo is the daisy), colorblock cardigans, classic striped one-pocket tees, and vibrant accents including braided tassels and bright contrast piping. The shapes and fabrics are easy and uncomplicated—from cotton rompers and jersey tees to washed-linen shifts and flutter-sleeve pinafore dresses.
“I want the Margherita kids collection to expose [my son] Otto and children like him to a colorful world of possibilities, because why not?” explains Margherita. “My hope for this brand is to nourish a creative instinct and that same freedom dressing I was so lucky to grow up with. The possibilities of mixing and matching are infinite. Both children and parents can choose whatever they like without ever going wrong.”
Described as a “contemporary, whimsical, and child-friendly take on the ’60s,” you can see some highlights of the line in our slideshow below, as well as on margheritakids.com. The collection will also be carried at Nordstrom in the U.S. Prices start at $35.
