- "After closing my company, Milkit, I've been exploring filmmaking and photography."
-

Blueberries
Banana
Milk of choice
Tejari Kids Organic Vanilla Blend
Directions:
Blend it all together and enjoy!
- "Smoothies have always been my secret trick for sneaking extra nutrients into the girls and Tejari’s Superfood Protein Powder is my new favorite weapon! It’s such an easy way for us to make something healthy AND yummy together."
-
"Involving the girls while I’m cooking—giving them specific tasks (you peel the carrots while your sister rinses the beans)—is a sure shot way to get them to eat more healthfully."
"They are always so proud of what we end up preparing, which as of late has included a lot of rice bowls. Those are such an easy way to incorporate all the major food groups and we are always discovering a new combination to throw together."
-
"What a time warp we are in! Quarantine has been a whirlwind of family camping adventures, home-cooked meals, a dissolved business, new creative endeavors, and fun home projects. The forced time at home has centered us, allowing us to focus on the things that bring us joy."
"I sadly had to lay my company (Milkit) to rest, a decision that was difficult but the right one given the circumstances. My two best friends and I created a pre-packed labor bag for new moms, something we wished we’d had during our 7 combined births. We designed the bags along with a linen robe and collaborated with local companies for the products included. We did it all ourselves and learned so, so much in the process, but ultimately felt it was time to take a break with the potential to revisit it in the future."
"The silver lining has been the newly created space that has allowed me to dive back into filmmaking and photography, two things I had put aside since having kids. Now that the girls are back in school, my husband and I have been able to collaborate. He’s a musician/producer and working on these projects together has been thrilling!"
-
"A practice I’ve adopted during the pandemic has been my daily morning walk. The fresh, brisk air clears my head, setting me on track for however the rest of the day enfolds."
"I usually listen to Spotify (Vanishing Twin is a new favorite!), admire the dew drops, and say 'hi' to the occasional dog friend. It’s a gentle reminder of how our beautiful world continues to spin ‘round, despite how uncertain it may feel."

- "I've been working as a freelance art director for 15+ years and now as an online shop owner at Ohlolly.com"
-
Ingredients:
Yogurt
Tejari Organic Cacao + Greens Blend
Fresh berries
Coconut flakes
Granola
Directions:
Blend the yogurt and Tejari Organic Cacao + Greens Blend together in a bowl. Top with berries, coconut flakes, and granola. Easy and delicious!
- "It's a simple yet super nutritious breakfast bowl for busy weekday mornings. I'm not a recipe follower, so I just throw stuff in. Yogurt, Tejari Plant-Based Superfood Protein Powder—which gives this simple dish a mega nutrition boost—fresh berries, coconut flakes, and granola."
- "Not having junk food around the house is a huge help."
- "My family started calling my taco dinner 'pandemic tacos.' For protein, we usually have tofu and beef, and then I always make a bunch of different veggies, too, including carrots, which my husband finds so puzzling. But I figure if it's in the fridge, why not eat it in the tacos."
-
"I was already living a WFH lifestyle as a freelance art director for 15+ years and now as an entrepreneur. Quarantine time has thankfully been fine. I am utterly grateful that my business not only survived, but grew during this tough time."
"While having my kids around at home full-time was chaotic at times, I couldn't be more proud that both girls did as well as they did. And, of course, what a blessing it is that my husband can also work from home! I am praying that he never has to go back into the office for work."
-
"A big part of my everyday self-care is very closely related to my work: skincare. I absolutely love all things skincare and I make sure that I give myself the time to care for my skin. My routines aren't too complicated nor do they take a long time, but I enjoy every second of it."
"Also, I take a 30-minute walk with my husband and our dog Toki pretty much every morning—this is one of my favorite things to do."

"We make it a point to eat dinner as a family throughout the week and that has been incredibly helpful in getting James to broaden his horizons and make healthier food choices."
"It was hard to do this pre-pandemic because my husband would get home pretty late and I would have to make James a separate meal. I found he was getting pickier and pickier about what he was willing to eat."
"When my husband started working from home, we set an appointed dinner each night when he would take a dinner break and I could make one meal for all of us (sometimes deconstructed for the kiddo). Almost immediately, we found James becoming a much more curious and adventurous eater, which has been wonderful!"
"Also, if your kiddo is vegetable adverse, experiment to see if it’s a texture issue. I found James is not a fan of cooked vegetables like carrots and broccoli, but he will eat them when they are crunchy and raw (and more nutrient-rich)."
-
"Mediterranean Choose-Your-Own-Adventure: Chicken Shawarma or falafel (Trader Joe’s offers both that are very good) with a variety of options, depending on what we have on hand: hummus, pita, cucumber, olives, feta cheese, rice pilaf, salad."
"Pasta with homemade pesto with slow-roasted tomatoes: Pesto is one of the first things I learned to make when I was in college and James loves it. When basil is out of season, I make it with kale and/or spinach. I top it with those little grape tomatoes halved, drizzled with a little olive oil and salt and roasted cut-side-up for about an hour at 300 degrees until they are caramelized and delicious."
-
"Early on in the pandemic, my work came to a standstill and I took the opportunity to focus more on my family and home. While I cherished that time, I also felt myself having to conform to an identity I hadn’t ever anticipated for myself and that was hard. But as my work picked back up again, it was oddly challenging to accept that old identity once again. I had come to love JUST being a mom!"
"I am grateful I am at a place in my career where I can make my own hours and choose the type of work (and the type of people) I want to take on, which has helped a lot in finding balance between working and care-giving. That, and an extremely supportive partner!"
- "I started leaving my phone at home while going on nice long walks and hikes and that has done wonders!"
