Ever stumble across a children’s clothing line that’s so dreamy and perfect that you actually stopped what you were doing to see if the pieces came in adult sizes? Tuchinda Designs is that brand. The New York City-based label is truly special and unique with its inspiring, artistic approach to kidswear.
Tina Tuchinda was a new mom disappointed by the lack of luxurious, multicultural options in the childrenswear market. Being a fashion design graduate with a love for all things style and art, she decided to set out and create them herself. (And what else would you expect from someone with a surname that means “a closet of precious stones” in Thai?) With the number one motivation being her son, she began pulling design inspiration from her travels to Milan, Paris, and Japan, which ultimately resulted in detailing and artistry that you normally don’t find on children’s clothing racks.
From start to finish, Tuchinda is set apart from the rest. Each piece is made predominately using organic fabrics sourced from Japan or Europe, while the designs are developed through a number of rare sewing techniques, interesting pattern manipulations, intricate details, and a stunning mix of colors. As for the collection, you’ll find options for kids sizes 2 to 16. Take a look at some of our favorite SS16 lookbook photos below and view the rest of it here—we’re betting you’ll be just as obsessed as we are.
