Let’s admit it: There’s a lot of stuff floating out there on YouTube, and not all of it is kid-friendly. Which is why the video-centric site is launching the YouTube Kids app today!

Available only for Android devices and through Google Play and iTunes to start (YouTube is owned by Google), the free app includes clips by kid favorites, including Mother Goose Club, DreamWorks, National Geographic Kids, Jim Henson Co., Sesame Street, and Thomas the Tank. Reading Rainbow‘s LeVar Burton will also be creating a series called uTech for the new platform, and special science content will be streamed thanks to Vlogbrothers.

The app also includes an automatic turn-off timer that parents can set, voice commands for small children, the ability to turn off the search function and sound, and disabled comments (to protect kids from profanity), amongst other features.

According to Variety, there will be a limited number of prescreened ads on the app, and none of them will click-through to third party websites.

Think YouTube Kids sounds like a hit with your littles? Download it here and let us know.
