All About The GenderCool Bundle By A Kids Book About
Written by Katie Hintz-Zambrano
Just in time for Pride Month, the conversation-sparkers over at A Kids Book About have teamed up with The GenderCool Project for a trio of books tackling important topics related to the LGBTQI+ community. The three titles in The GenderCool Bundle (which can be purchased together at 15% off, or separately for $19.95) include A Kids Book About Being Transgender, A Kids Book About Being Non-Binary, and A Kids Book About Being Inclusive.
For those who are unfamiliar, The GenderCool Project is a non-profit storytelling campaign turned global movement led by 18 young people known as the “Champions.” (Meet some of the inspiring kids behind the campaign here!) Because these new books are in partnership with GenderCool, they stand out from other A Kids Book About titles, thanks to their narration by four inspiring, young GenderCool Champions—Rebekah, Ashton, Hunter, and Gia.
At a time when the nation is seeing an unprecedented level of harmful legislation targeting transgender and non-binary youth, this book collection brings relatable stories from actual youth who have experienced both discrimination and love and acceptance, putting real names, faces, and experiences behind vital topics.
“These beautiful books will help people replace their opinions with real, positive experiences learning about our Champions who are thriving throughout the country with the love and support of their family, friends, and community,” explains GenderCool co-founder Gearah Goldstein.
As Jelani Memory, co-founder and CEO of A Kids Book About, explains it: the three books aim to “elevate the underrepresented voices of transgender and non-binary teens with real, lived experiences, to spark productive and positive conversations around this topic, and make them a priority for kids and grownups everywhere.”
If you’ve been looking for a way to talk to your kids about being transgender, non-binary, and having inclusive behavior towards everyone they encounter, we highly recommend these engaging, interactive books that are easy to understand and relate to for 5-year-olds on up. Each includes vital lessons that kids will learn from—and adults, too.
