According to a recent study, 8 out of 10 parents will turn to formula at some point when feeding their baby. Still, the U.S. has notoriously lagged behind Europe when it comes to rolling out new formula options that reflect the values of a growing number of health-conscious parents. That is, until Bobbie came along.
Founded by two mothers (with 6 children between them), Bobbie is the first infant formula to launch in the U.S. in the last 5 years. With the goal of offering a safe, FDA regulated alternative to the black market of imported baby formulas, Bobbie’s homegrown, certified USDA organic infant formula is modeled after breast milk and is designed to meet the most recent EU nutritional standards for critical ingredients like DHA and iron, while also meeting all FDA nutritional standards for infant formula. (It’s recently been awarded the Clean Label Project Purity Award and Clean Label Pesticide Free Certification). The signature Bobbie recipe includes Organic Valley milk from pasture raised cows, and does not feature commonplace baby formula ingredients like corn syrup, palm oil, or maltodextrin. (Read more about Bobbie’s ingredients here).
Other modern elements of the direct-to-consumer brand (which is sold on hibobbie.com and Target) include top-quality text-based support and purchasing, a subscription-based service that assures you’ll never run out of formula, and beautifully simple packaging. Want to see it for yourself? Take a look at Bobbie in action, as we invite three inspiring mothers from across the country—Naomi Boyer, Logan Russell, and Stephanie Paradiso—to give their honest Bobbie formula reviews. Naturally, each of their journeys to formula differed from one another. Here are some snippets of our conversations:
“I had to start thinking about formula when Presley was growing and eating a lot more,” Naomi tells us. “I wasn’t producing as much as I used to, I even tried to change my eating habits and take supplements, but I just couldn’t keep up with how much she was eating. I knew there had to be a lot more formula options out there than there was before. I also was never against formula feeding since everyone’s experience and bodies are different. The goal was for her to eat!”
Meanwhile, Logan says: “We started thinking about formula when I started to struggle with my milk supply. I fought the idea of formula because of stigmas that had wormed their way into my head. I couldn’t tell you where it came from, but I had this idea that if I didn’t breastfeed then I wasn’t providing the best for my baby. I also feared Olivia and I would not feel as connected as we did when she was nursing. I put so much pressure on myself to breastfeed because it was a goal that I set in the very beginning. It was my ‘thing’ I didn’t want to budge on. But life happens! And I realized that all of my ideas about formula were completely untrue. After researching modern formulas, specifically Bobbie, I realized that it was just as viable as breastmilk. No matter how you feed your baby, fed is best.”
Finally, Stephanie—a mother of two—is extra grateful to have Bobbie the second time around: “I was first interested in trying Bobbie because it is European-style formula, and I had always been curious about this! Both of my children had different issues when it came to their tummies, and I know Bobbie is designed to be gentle—that is very important to me. I also love that the company is female founded and led by moms. They understand not only the different facets of feeding, but also the struggles someone may face when trying to decide how to feed their baby.”

- SoCal-based mom Naomi Boyer started supplementing her breastmilk with formula starting at Presley's birth. After breastfeeding exclusively for a short stint, she has switched over to formula-only feeding.
- "My goal was to breastfeed as much as possible, but Presley was born 3 weeks early, so they (the doctors and nurses) advised us to supplement with formula so that she could gain weight. So we stuck to that plan until she reached a certain weight and gave me the okay to just breastfeed."
- "I had to start thinking about formula when Presley was growing and eating a lot more. I wasn’t producing as much as I used to, I even tried to change my eating habits and take supplements, but I just couldn’t keep up with how much she was eating."
- "I knew there had to be a lot more formula options out there than there was before. I also was never against formula feeding since everyone’s experience and bodies are different. The goal was for her to eat!"

"I got a package outside my door and when I opened it and saw the Bobbie formula, my eyes lit up. I was so excited for Presley to have a new and organic formula to try! But of course, I did my research first. I ended up loving what I found about the brand. I love that it’s USDA Organic and non-GMO. I love that there’s no corn syrup, no filler, no persistent pesticides, and the list goes on. I also love that it’s founded by MOMS!"
- "I was a little nervous because our other formula was pretty heavy and Presley would spit up a lot from it until she got used to it, but the transition to Bobbie was super easy. For two days, we would alternate her old formula with Bobbie in order for Presley to have an easy transition. But we saw how well she was doing with Bobbie that we just switched her over completely and there were no complications at all! We never found anything out of the ordinary to happen from switching her out this way, so it made me so happy!"
- "Since I am an influencer, I get to try a lot of new brands and products. A lot of my most loved products I use today are from brands that I would never have known about or tried unless it was sent—Bobbie is one of them! I’m so glad this package was sent because I know Presley has great formula that my husband and I are super happy with and now I get to share this with others!"
- "I am definitely a texter, because it’s fast and efficient, so this is something that is right up my alley since I’m so busy! I always want Presley to never fall short of supply (because she is most important) whether it’s for diapers or formula, so the subscription model ensures us all the she will always be stocked and I never have to worry!"
- "I would advise you to do your research and talk to other moms. Go for a brand like Bobbie that was founded by moms who share the same common goals and interests."

- Charlotte, North Carolina-based mom Logan Russell fed her daughter exclusively from the breast until 3 months, around the time she went back to work and started pumping and bottle-feeding. Around 6 months, she made the switch to formula.
- "We have been through the entire spectrum of feeding! We initially started exclusively breastfeeding for the first 3 months. While it was challenging at times, I really enjoyed it and felt like it created a special bond being able to provide that for her. Around 3 months, unfortunately Olivia started refusing my breast. We would work to bring her back, but the nursing strikes just escalated. I’ll never forget when it happened because it was the weekend before I went back to work. Between the stress of newborn life, coming back from maternity leave, and then trying to manage the nursing strikes, my supply dropped and never fully recovered. We did a mix of breastfeeding and pumping, then eventually I was exclusively pumping."
- "Keeping up with my pumping schedule, trying to take care of her, work full-time, and try to keep stress levels maintained was a huge challenge. My supply continued to dip and dwindle. I was trying all the tricks to get it back or at least make the minimum amount she needed! I even did milk-sharing with my sister who gave birth within months of me. Ultimately, it all took a major toll on my mental health. After a lot of discussion with my husband and our pediatrician, we decided to switch to formula around 6 months. Being able to provide food for my baby and take care of my mental health was such a relief! While I loved breastfeeding and it was a privilege to provide what I could, formula was ultimately the best fit for our family."
- "We started thinking about formula when I started to struggle with my milk supply. It was my 'thing' I didn’t want to budge on. But life happens! And I realized that all of my ideas about formula were completely untrue. After researching modern formulas, specifically Bobbie, I realized that it was just as viable as breastmilk. No matter how you feed your baby, fed is best."
- "I actually found Bobbie before I was approached by MOTHER and was interested in trying it, but at the time there was a waitlist. I was in an urgent situation, so I didn’t pursue it further. So when MOTHER reached out I was beyond thrilled! Trying to find a formula I trusted was daunting. I had no idea what I was getting into and immediately felt overwhelmed! I love that Bobbie is a European-style, organic formula made in the U.S. and rigorously tested. I also wanted to avoid corn syrup in formula, which Bobbie doesn’t use, so that was a big plus! Honestly, the formula ticked all the boxes for me in terms of an ideal formula for Olivia."
- "Olivia has done so well on Bobbie! She gets excited when she sees her bottle and we haven’t had any issues with gassiness or fussiness."
- "I love the subscription model because mom brain definitely gets the best of me and having a scheduled shipment arrive at my doors makes sure I never forget to place an order."
- Giddy-up!
- "I know first-hand how overwhelming trying to decide on a formula can be. Especially if you’re a first time mom (like me) or in an urgent situation (also me, ha!). My advice: Do your research and decide what qualities in a formula matter most to you. Find a source that you feel you can trust and go with it! Trust your instincts. Trust your gut. You will know what is best for your baby and ultimately making sure they’re fed is the only thing that matters. You got this, mama!"

- Long Island, New York-based mom Stephanie Paradiso started formula feeding her second daughter, Alexia, at birth after having a positive formula experience with her first-born.
- "I knew from the very beginning of my pregnancy that I wanted to go straight to formula. With my first daughter I was very set on exclusively breastfeeding. I felt like there was such a huge stigma around using formula, and that if I didn’t try to breastfeed I wasn’t doing the 'right' thing for my baby. I did try, but eventually made the decision to switch to formula. I was suffering horribly with postpartum depression and I truly felt that putting pressure on myself to nurse was making it worse. This time around, I wanted to do everything in my power to avoid PPD but also be a present, happy mom for my baby. Formula from the start was the best choice for me."
- "While both babies were formula fed, the second time around has been a totally different experience! My first, Audriana, was a fussy, gassy baby with reflux! We tried many formulas and eventually found one that worked but was nearly impossible to find. I wish I had Bobbie at the time. My second thankfully doesn’t have reflux, and that has made feeding easier. I also feel a lot less pressure this time around. I realize now there are so many options when it comes to feeding—and there is no one 'right' way, just the way that works for you and your baby."
- "While I was pregnant with my first daughter, I truly felt people would judge me if I said I was going to use formula. I was worried what others would think because at the time I felt like there was such a stigma around using formula. I also worried that I wouldn't bond with my baby or that she wouldn't know who I was if I wasn’t the only one feeding her. When I decided to switch to formula I tried to think of 'reasons' or 'excuses' why I couldn't breastfeed. I realize now I wasn’t being fair to myself. There doesn’t have to be a reason why a mother chooses to feed her baby formula!"
- "Although Alexia doesn’t have reflux like my first daughter did, she does suffer from constipation. She was otherwise fine on the formula we were previously using, but her stools were often hard to pass. I thought this would change as we started to incorporate more solid foods into her diet, but it didn’t. Once we started Bobbie, Alexia’s constipation was gone within the first few days! I was nervous about switching because I felt like she was generally a happy baby on our previous formula, but I am truly so glad I did make the switch to Bobbie! We had no issues making the switch and she loves it!"
- "I was first interested in trying Bobbie because it is European-style formula, and I had always been curious about this! Both of my children had different issues when it came to their tummies, and I know Bobbie is designed to be gentle—that is very important to me. I also love that the company is female founded and led by moms. They understand not only the different facets of feeding, but also the struggles someone may face when trying to decide how to feed their baby."
- "Aside from the support—the convenience! Bobbie offers an option for formula subscription and I really felt like this could make life easier. Between my blog and running my social media agency, my two girls, and my responsibilities overall—it’s easy to not realize when I am almost out of formula. I loved the idea of a month’s supply being delivered to my door so I never have to run out late at night again."
-
"Yes! I love the fact that Bobbie has text support! I saved the number to my phone and found it so convenient that I could speak to a real support person, in real time. I was curious to see how many ounces my 10 month old should be consuming within a day, and they sent me a super helpful resource right away. The text support number was easy to find on the website and it also happens to be the same number you can call for voice support—how easy is that?"
"I really enjoyed speaking to support! They were SO helpful. Within 30 seconds of calling I was connected with someone and they not only answered my question, they also directed me to additional resources on the website. This will be a total game changer for parents. I can’t tell you the number of times, especially with my first, that I wanted to call my pediatrician for feeding support because I kept asking myself, 'is this normal?' Having a support line like this to help parents on their feeding journey is invaluable! And not just for first time parents—even the second time around I had a ton of questions because every baby is different."
-
"My best advice would be to remember that no matter how you feed your baby, it is YOUR choice. And you should never have to defend, justify, or feel guilty about what you decide. All moms are just trying to figure it out, day by day! Sometimes hour by hour—I know that’s how it was for me during those newborn days."
"Bobbie is a great option because it is gentle on tummies but also provides so much support! I still have questions even with my second because every baby is different—and not only that, they change often! It is nice to have the text support to ask questions whenever you have them."
