We can’t believe it’s already been over a week since the third-annual In Good Company conference, focused on creative, entrepreneurial women and mothers, went down in San Francisco. To re-live the magical good-vibes-filled day—and some of the killer outfits we spotted there—we’ve got a street style recap for you below, chock-full of inspiring fashion. Plus, in addition to getting the deets on these 100+ ladies’ wares, we also asked them to detail their 2019 IGC highlights, as well as the best pieces of career and life advice (from the conference and beyond) that continue to guide them. Get ready to jot down some notes and enjoy!
-
Ligaya wears a Eugenia Kim hat, Sandy Liang dress, Philip Lim shoes, and Sophie Buhai earrings.
In Good Company Highlight: "Hanging with an inspiring, supportive community of badass moms. Seeing a room packed with hundreds of entrepreneurial women and hearing their strategies on how to tackle all the demands of career and parenting at last year’s conference gave me hope that running a business with a young child wasn’t such a crazy impossible idea after all. It was a major catalyst in me starting Wild Child."
-
Best Career/Life Advice: "Unless you love it and are the best at it—delegate, delegate, delegate!"
You can find more on Ligaya and Wild Child here
- Daphne wears a Gal Meets Glam dress, Cuyana hat, and Solly Baby wrap (which were given away to all mamas with babies at the conference!).
-
In Good Company Highlight: "I loved the last panel on power, privilege, and change for good."

Erica wears a Lacusa top, Jessie Kamm pants, and Karen Walker glasses.
In Good Company Highlight: (Temi) "Seeing how the conference grows year on year, connecting with so many other progressive, hardworking, and incredibly stylish women, and the panel on privilege. Along with Dr. Akilah Cadet's vibrant and humorous energy that she brought to a hard hitting topic, Aisha Mays said something that has stuck with me: 'Privilege is the access, opportunity, and support to actualize your life and live the life you want.' So simple. So true. So powerful."
In Good Company Highlight: (Erica) "Moderating my panel, I love hearing how women are getting things done.”
-
Best Career/Life Advice: (Temi) "Play to win."
Best Career/Life Advice: (Erica) "Hire slow, fire fast."

You can find more on Meredith here.
-
Sasha wears a Nanushka dress, Acne Studios jacket and bag, and Rag & Bone shoes.
In Good Company Highlight: "Connecting with the likeminded, creative, and inspiring women of San Francisco. Every year I meet new people and reconnect with others who have become my friends and support system over the years. I met a lot of them at In Good Company and MOTHER events, and am so thankful for the community Katie, Sarah and her team have created."
-
Best Career/Life Advice: "There are so many pieces of amazing advice that come out of In Good Company, but honestly whenever I leave it's less about the individual messages, and more about the overall feeling of inspiration, support, creativity, 'you got this' and 'you are not alone' that I take away with me."
You can find more on Sasha here and here.
-
Alicia wears a dress from her mother's closet, Asos jacket, and Converse sneakers.
Candice wears Candid Art earrings and bracelet, a custom shirt, H&M jeans, Kelsi Dagger shoes, and a Shop Relove purse.
In Good Company Highlight: (Candice) "Where do I begin! All the panel discussions, and especially the ones talking about why to use venture capital versus business loans, and the discussion about privilege, power, and change for good. I was totally inspired and motivated when I left."
Best Career/Life Advice: (Candice) "I always remember the Bruce Cox quote, 'The best way to solve a problem is before it happens.'"

Angela wears ByFar shoes, a Ganni sweater, Anthropologie dress, Sezane bag, and Jennifer Fisher earrings.
In Good Company Highlight: "The power and privilege panel was a favorite. Dr. Cadet led an incredible and inspiring conversation on how we all can use the amount of privilege or power we have to ignite change in the world."
-
Best Career/Life Advice: "I still love what Mara Hoffman said at the last IGC about lack attracting lack and how doing our best to operate from a place of abundance will only lead to more of it in our lives. That has stuck with me and I still use it as a daily mantra!"
You can find more on Angela here.
-
Monelle wears a Gigi Pip hat, Ace and Jig dress and pants, and Freda Salvador shoes.
In Good Company Highlight: "My favorite part of the day was hearing the phenomenal women speaking on the Privilege, Power, and Change panel. With such a full day of content and activity, the energy in the room was palpably waning. The moderator and panel did a fantastic job at reinvigorating the room and reminding us of the various levels of privilege we forget we enjoy—education, socioeconomic status, race, skin color, gender, sex, etc. With the current political climate, it's easy to feel disenfranchised and to opt out of taking small steps within your own community and network to effect change. This panel was a powerful reminder that activism comes in many different forms and sizes."
-
Best Career/Life Advice: "I've really been enjoying the idea of 'fewer, but better' in all aspects of my life. On a personal level, that has meant making a dramatic shift towards conscious, mindful consumption—specifically, investing in long-lasting garments that serve many needs so I can buy fewer of them, and supporting companies whose core values prioritize their workers and the environment. From a business perspective, it has led me to focus on qualifying clients to ensure that any opportunities we pursue are reflective of our core values and worthy of our time and effort."
You can find more on Monelle here.
-
Megan wears a Stine Goya dress. FRĒDA SALVADOR Julia boots, and a FRĒDA tote bag.
In Good Company Highlight: "I loved hearing Melody Ehsani speak of company culture and how she keeps hers so positive. I also loved a comment from the audience that spoke of giving young women opportunities (even small ones), and exposing them to new things, so they know what’s out there to aspire to."
-
Best Career/Life Advice: "I recently started working with life coach Marcie Montgomery and she’s working with me on making small daily changes that are magnifying over time. It’s incredible that little tweaks in one area of my life have made monstrous changes in others. I guess my advice is, no change is too small. It will quickly spark change in other areas of your life as well, and the outcome can be profound."
You can find more on Megan here and here.
-
Aleza wears a Topshop sweater and skirt, Gucci loafers, and Creatures of Comfort bucket bag.
In Good Company Highlight: "The energy! Being in such a beautiful space, surrounded by like-minded women who want to better themselves and their businesses left me so inspired and motivated."
Best Career/Life Advice: "There were so many takeaways, but one that sticks out is the acronym 'GTG' or 'girlfriend-to-girlfriend' for strengthening your network and support. It's important to hear, participate with, and root for your girlfriends, and I plan on doing that even more so now."
You can find more on Aleza here.
-
Kimber-Lee wears a Realisation Par Dress, Fashion Nova jacket, Jeffery Campbell sneakers, and Urban Outfitters sunglasses.
In Good Company Highlight: "It was deeply reassuring to be reminded of the amount of work and strength that goes into building a business/career/dream, and that it's O.K.—and beneficial—to be aggressively oneself in pursuit of that. I also met a very kind and radiant woman in the bathroom who gave me some great self-marketing advice for working as a music video director, specifically. She used to work in the music industry!"
Best Career/Life Advice: "To repeatedly identify and challenge limiting beliefs—in career, business, and in life."
You can find more on Kimber-Lee here.
-
Shun wears a Universal Thread jumpsuit and earrings, Frye shoes, and Baby Womb World wrap.
In Good Company Highlight: "I believe it was Melody Eshani who talked about having a no-gossip policy. That even the slightest amount of gossip was frowned upon and grounds for termination in her company. I think a positive and unified workplace has to have intentional policies like these, especially among sisterhoods—employed ones included."
-
Best Career/Life Advice: "I enjoyed listening to the panel regarding funding, specifically Whitney White and how she had to overcome challenges being self-funded. I am self-funded and could relate to a lot of what she discussed, and I knew that PayPal offered loans, but had no idea how they worked. I looked into it as soon as I got home."
You can find more on Shun here and here.
-
Nicole wears an Anine Bing suit, Christian Louboutin heels, and a Balenciaga bag.
In Good Company Highlight: "Going to IGC solo and seeing familiar faces and reconnecting with friends from the past. And the fact that days later, I'm still internalizing all the goodness that came from that day."

You can find more on Nicole here and here.
-

In Good Company Highlight: "The part of the conference that spoke to me most was hearing the last panel speak on the topic of Power, Privilege, and Change for Good. I am a huge fan of the ladies that spoke and admire the work they’re doing within our community. Their words touched me so much that it made me cry. They made me believe that I can keep advocating and working for the good of the disability community and create a business to help support my family."
-
Katie wears a Ganni dress and Freda Salvador boots. Sarah wears a Christy Dawn dress and Freda Salvador shoes.
In Good Company Highlight: (Katie) "It's hard to pick a favorite moment! The day is a culmination of nearly a year's worth of work and it's always an indescribable feeling to see it all come together and see so many incredible women bring their talents forward to create magic, both on and off the stage."
In Good Company Highlight: (Sarah) "Collaborating with the most amazing group of women and seeing our small team's vision and plans all come together after so many months of hard work."
-
Best Career/Life Advice: (Katie) "The basics: treat people how you'd like to be treated, work hard & be nice to people. Also, I've received lots of bits of wisdom at the last three IGC conferences. Some advice that comes to mind—abundance attracts abundance (Mara Hoffman), look ahead at your own path and don't spend too much time focusing on the competition (Clare Vivier), sometimes life looks like a McDonald's bag stuffed inside of a Whole Foods bag (Elise Peterson), and reminding your children often that they hit the f*cking lottery by having you as a mother (Jeni Britton Bauer)."
Best Career/Life Advice: (Sarah) "Whenever my sister or I were having a difficult time, whether in work or our personal lives, my father would (and still does) chime in the most upbeat way, 'What's the most important thing? To have fun!'. This is far and away the best advice I've ever received and always holds true. To me, it's a reminder to not take small (or big) setbacks to heart, to prioritize what's most important and to let go of the rest, and to always surround yourself with people you love."
You can find more on Katie here and Sarah here.
-
Susan wears a Roksanda dress.
In Good Company Highlight: "I loved the sea of stylish, powerful, smart, and diverse women lifting each other up."

You can find more on Susan here and here.
-
Myka wears a Madewell x Christy Dawn dress, American Apparel socks, Freda Salvador shoes, and a purse from Target.
In Good Company Highlight: "All of the inspiring women I was able to chat with during our breaks. Being surrounded by so many mamas who are running their own businesses (and killing it!) was just incredible."
-
Best Career/Life Advice: "Do what works best for you and your family! It's the best life, business, and parenting advice I've ever received. Every individual and their family is so unique, so don't try to replicate someone else's. Your business and family needs are exactly that—YOURS! So do what works for you."

Rebecca wears a vintage top and pants, LoQ Villa pumps, Marc by Marc Jacobs bag, and Solly Baby wrap.
In Good Company Highlight: (Leslie) "Running a business with two newborns can at times feel really isolating. So for me, being able to show up at an event with two babies in tow and be completely welcomed and embraced by hundreds of creative and inspiring women was a pretty remarkable experience and a beautiful testament to the solidarity of women. And having a friend (Rebecca!) who was willing to hold one of my babies ALL DAY LONG. I also had no issue with taking full advantage of the beautiful mother's lounge and massage station."
In Good Company Highlight: (Rebecca) "Meeting so many local, inspiring ladies!"
Best Career/Life Advice: (Leslie) "There were so many good takeaways and good nuggets of advice at In Good Company, but what resonated with me most was the ongoing theme of trusting your creative instincts and remaining authentic to yourself. The idea that if you are someone who likes to create you will continue to be that person through successes and failures (Melody Ehsani). And it is better to live with your own mistakes than someone else's (Carly Cushnie)."
Best Career/Life Advice: (Rebecca) "I always appreciate the quote by Ira Glass where he acknowledges that when you're first starting out in a creative field, the things you are creating might not be as great as you want them to be. It's hard to get through that phase (and everybody goes through it) but it's important to just keep doing the work (a lot of work!) and not quit too early. I try to remember that any time I find myself not doing something because I'm fearful that it won't meet my standards. You just need to do the work, and eventually what you're making will be as good as your ambitions."
You can find more on Rebecca here; and more on Leslie here.

Society has fed me a narrative that being a mom and a professional was nearly impossible. I work and have worked so hard to be the professional that I am today, but why has it felt like I had to put my career on hold when I wanted to start raising a family? It wasn't until I attended In Good Company that I started to trust that I could still be a successful career woman and a mom. My conference highlight was that. Being surrounded by the IGC community and empowered by the stories of strong, intelligent, highly motivated women that didn't make me fear my future, but look forward to what lay ahead."

Best Career/Life Advice: "'Do your part.' This advice has really clarified for me what I put out into the world. I have a contribution to make that is distinctly mine to give. This helps me keep things in perspective when I am tempted to compare myself to others or to give myself to something that doesn’t align with my purpose. It encourages me to think collaboratively when I find myself operating in a vacuum. Emily wears a vintage Valentino blazer from Encourage Vintage, Doen dress, Sezane boots, and an Encourage Vintage purse.
In Good Company Highlight: "I loved being able to hear from the designer of one of my favorite brands—Doen—about how they built their business and how they work to partner with female-owned factories all over the world. And my favorite panel every year is the last one. This year the topic was Privilege, Power & Change for Good. It always motivates me to try to use the power I have to amplify voices of color and to try harder to see outside my own perspective, in my life with my own children, and with my business."
Best Career/Life Advice: "As a creative entrepreneur, the lesson that I keep coming back to again and again, through struggle and trial and error, is that I must take care of my own well-being first and foremost. I can't do any really good and creative work out of a lack in my own soul. I need to nurture my physical, mental, and emotional well-being in order to give out of an overflow and abundance. I think I keep coming back to this because I'm so bad at it! Whenever I get burnt out I take a look inwards and realize I need to tend to my own garden. It's very difficult for me to give myself permission to rest. Our culture puts a prize on doing, on being busy and productive. And even in my own family and as a mother I've realized I'm the best version of myself when I give myself the freedom to say 'no' to things that don't excite me. It frees me up to give that good energy back to my kids, my husband, and my art."
You can find out more on Emily here and here.

Even though raising my daughter for the past 2 years has been very satisfying, part of me was very excited being part of something big and seeing it all come to life. It reminded me what it feels like to be part of a team and connected to other women."

Etienne wears a Maria Cornejo dress, Kapital coat, Miista shoes, Stuart Coffee Jewelery rings, and bracelet passed down from her grandmother.

Best Career/Life Advice: "'Don't be afraid to ask for the job.' My first internship was at a media company in New York. The woman who hired me told me that I got the job because I expressed genuine interest and excitement for the position and verbally stated that I wanted the opportunity. She said that most people assume that showing up expresses interest, but vocalize it! Also, I love the book Nice Girls Don't Get the Corner Office.
