We’re always on the lookout for stylish alternatives to traditional diaper bags, and new company Leader Bag Co. is there right along with us, creating a completely covetable carryall.

“We wanted to answer the question: Why isn’t there a diaper bag that is beautifully crafted, simply designed, and practical for both mom and dad?” explain design trio Meghan Nesher, Liz Nesher Elliott, and Jess Nesher. “Our solution is the Julien Backpack. It’s a stylish, effortless accessory with high-quality leather, durable canvas, and rose gold-toned hardware, handmade in the U.S.A. The backpack leaves both hands free for tending to baby and being fully involved in family activities—and dad will feel comfortable wearing it, too. The inside is designed for carrying organized baby essentials, and includes a matching leather Change Pouch and Mat.”

The line is a total family affair, to boot, with a team made up of sisters and a sister-in-law, who joined forces (remotely) in 2013. Right now there are only two Julian Backpacks available—in black and natural, both made out of a water-resistant canvas exterior, nylon interior, and vegetable-tanned leather trim, and able to fit bottles, diapers, an iPad, and more. But fans of the $425 bag should know that there are more Leader Bag Co. products in the pipeline.

“In the long term, we see a lot of room in the baby and child market,” explains Nesher Elliott. “There’s a lack of simple but beautiful and useful design, especially in kid accessories, which creates a whole lot of space for Leader to play. We also have a few dream brands we’d like to collaborate with. Of course, we’ll continue to keep family at the core of our business, and responsible manufacturing practices to any product we add.”
