Born in Torino, Italy in 1911, the Superga brand has become known as the shoe of the people there, with everyone from princes to paupers rocking the vulcanized rubber-soled classics. And, if Claudia Volpi has it her way, the kicks will become the “people’s shoe” of San Francisco, as well. The S.F.-based businesswoman with Italian roots and a deep love for the company decided to open her own Superga shop in the heart of the bustling Fillmore Street shopping district just last month. To help her celebrate the arrival of the boutique (which sells limited-edition wonders imported straight from Italia), Mother invited some of our favorite S.F. mamas, papas, and kids to an in-store fĂȘte, which included balloon animals, a gelato cart, play stations by Mapamundi Kids, Toca Boca, and Yellow Owl Workshop, gorgeous blooms by Laura Seymour, and, of course, Superga kicks galore for the whole fam!
Peep some of our party pics below and check out Superga SF for yourself at 2326 Fillmore Street (and on Facebook here). Bonus: If you mention Mother through the end of the year, you’ll score 20% off your purchases. Holiday shopping, anyone?
