Is it just us, or is right now a really good time for kids’ books? Covering a wide variety of topics, filled with diverse characters, and illustrated with beautiful, inventive art, today’s titles for children make it beyond simple to find a winner—or fifty—that you and your kids will keep reaching for. This year, especially, welcomed a number of incredible kids’ books, which have led to several “best of” lists around the internet. To help save you time, we’ve compiled a bunch of noteable 2018 roundups from the likes of some of our favorites—including Common Sense Media, Here Wee Read, Little Books Big World, Read Brightly, The New York Times/New York Public Library, and The Smithsonian—all in one place! Interestingly enough, only ten of the books on this list of 78 ended up overlapping on two or more of the lists mentioned above, which just goes to show how many great options are currently out there. So, if you’re looking for a great winter break activity, we can’t think of a better idea than heading to the library and catching up on the best childrens books of 2018!
