Children’s Books That Teach Diversity
Written by Liz Kerins Pacheco
Of course you know that people come in all shapes and sizes. And depending on where you live, your kids surely see families and friends of all kinds during a quick afternoon of errands or on the playground at school. It’s often said that our little ones are more accepting of one another’s differences than we are as adults, but we think it can never hurt to reinforce that message at home. There have been countless times in our motherhood journey when books have delivered a message in ways far more eloquent, colorful, or just plain simple than we can. So, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite titles that teach everyone from toddlers to teens (and beyond!) that we should all celebrate what makes each of us unique.
- Boy and Bot
- Freckleface Strawberry
- Good Little Wolf
- Jack & Jim
- Last Stop On Market Street
