With only a couple weeks left until we say bye-bye to 2018, the folks over at Nameberry have added up all the searches on the site over the past year to compile what they’re calling the most popular baby names of 2018. While the site can’t prove that parents actually named their children these monikers, it creates its list by tallying up which names received the most pageviews from January 2018 to December 2018. Overall, it’s a great buzz meter for current hot names and emerging baby name trends.

According to Nameberry, Atticus is the buzziest name for boys in 2018 and Olivia is the buzziest name for girls. Meanwhile, new entrants into the girls’ top 100 include Anastasia, Clementine, Cordelia, Florence, Lyra, Mabel, and Wren. And, on the boys’ side, Aarav, Amos, Atlas, Desmond, Elias, Elio, Otto, Ryker, and Wilder.

Babycenter also just released its list of Top 100 names of 2018, according to information it compiled through its own search engine. While there is some overlap between the two lists, Babycenter’s line-up more so mirrors the official Social Security Administration’s list (which is revealed in May), with heavy hitters Sophia and Jackson taking the top spots. The Nameberry list, on the other hand, is a more accurate depiction of indie naming trends that are likely to bubble up from the underground in years to come. And, in our opinion, it’s a much more interesting read into the modern mindset of finding a name that is uber-unique for your little one.

Peep the most popular baby names 2018 lists below, and see if your favorite moniker is—for better or worse—on the come up! And, while you’re at it, check out some touching stories on how these 10 mothers settled upon their children’s special names.
