With holiday vibes in full swing, we decided to throw a festively themed fête of our own, hand-in-hand with our friends at Noggin. Over the weekend, we hosted some of our favorite Bay Area mamas—and their kiddos—at an action-packed mommy-and-me playdate filled with surprises. From cookie-decorating and face-painting to wrapping paper art and iPad fun via Noggin’s educational games and videos (ideal for 2-7 year olds), we had an absolute blast.
Check out 40+ pics from our Noggin x Mother holiday party in our slideshow below!
- Our party went down at the vibrant, rainbow-hued Wild Child preschool and play space in Oakland.
- Wild Child's space is as pretty on the inside as it is on the outside—demonstrated by our guest Angela Tafoya and her daughter Talula.
- Yes, there were multiple cookies served and consumed by all! (Thanks to Partake, Bakery Bling, and Sugar Sweet Oakland).
-
Cake-making mama Tami Busia and her daughter Zella came sartorially prepared in Noggin-themed gear! (Paw Patrol is a favorite on the app!)
You might recognize these two from a previous MOTHER x Noggin feature!
- Not surprisingly, the Noggin iPad play station was busy all-event long!
- The app boasts hundreds of educational activities for kids ages 2-7, including games, e-books, and videos featuring characters from kiddie favorites, like Paw Patrol, Peppa Pig, Bubble Guppies, Blaze and the Monster Machines, JoJo and Gran Gran, Dora The Explorer, and Shimmer & Shine.
- Playing solo or playing together—our little guests enjoyed Noggin in all the ways.
- MOTHER favorite Susan Work and her son Cy chow down on new holiday-themed cookies by Partake (Chocolate Peppermint and Holiday Sprinkle) and custom Noggin cookies by Sugar Sweet Oakland.
- Elena Fong's husband Will getting face-painted by his daughter Wynter, while his son Nova get the professional treatment via Wild Child.
- Jasleen Kaur's daughter Kaira asked for a sweet flower.
- Birthday girl Rowan (offspring of artist Dev Heyrana) opted for a sparkly shooting star.
- At our DIY wrapping paper station, kiddos got busy coloring sheets of Noggin-themed paper.
- Festive illustrations of Paw Patrol, Blaze and the Monster Machines, and Blue's Clues waiting to be brought to life by creative little hands and minds.
- Photographer Maria Del Rio and her son Teotl getting artsy.
- Shun Moore's daughter Marlo adds some mini-bows to the mix.
- The mama-founded company Bakery Bling provided cookie and gingerbread house kits for our little guests to decorate their own holiday-themed treats.
- So many Bakery Bling toppings to choose from!
- The best-hatted duo award goes to...Dev Heyrana and her little one, Rowan, hands down!
- Might we suggest you add cookie-decorating to your next playdate? Bakery Bling kits make it as easy as 1-2-3!
- Iguehi James' twin daughters, Odion and Akhere, show off their finished creations—and their event "passport" showing they completed the cookie-decorating station!
- Wild Child's plush playspace was quite the destination.
- We love this minimal play structure, ideal for the preschool set.
- Rowan (Dev Heyrana's child) taking off!
- Our mamas stayed fueled throughout the event with oat milk lattes by Minor Figures.
- Minor Figures' Barista Brews come in four flavors: Chai Latte, Matcha Latte, Mocha, and Oat Milk Latte.
-
Meanwhile, the kiddos stayed fueled by Once Upon A Farm pouches, Beauty's Bagels, fruit and veggies by Ripen, and Honest Kids juice boxes.
Not to mention, lots and lots of cookies!
- Stylish mama Jayme Sy and her equally adorable brood.
- Paw Patrol, but make it rainbow!
- Twin mama Franchesca Hashim gets in some mama QT while her kiddo enjoys some Noggin entertainment.
- Noggin's educational app is easy to navigate, even for the littlest of kids.
- Erin Castillo and her little one taking advantage of all of the fun instruments and toys in the Wild Child space.
- Cozy spots, everywhere!
- And so many toys for hours of open-ended pretend play.
- She gets it from her mama.
- Jewelry-maker Ariel Gordon and daughter Mia (before Mia got a full-on painted tiger face!).
- Jasleen Kaur of Sach Foods (the best paneer around!) enjoying a story time break.
- Sometimes the best wrapping paper includes a healthy dose of scribbles.
- It's a mama reunion for small-biz owners Iguehi James, Shahidah Zareef, Tami Busia, and Shun Moore.
- Little Naima got a cupcake to go (on her cheek).
- Shun Moore and the adorable namesake to her bows, clips, and headwraps line: Marlo Bea.
-
Well done, Cy, on completing your MOTHER x Noggin passport!
